Collection: FERNANDO ZÓBEL Centennial Collection

In 1960, Fernando Zóbel played a pivotal role in establishing the Ateneo Art Gallery. Then a faculty member at the Ateneo de Manila University, Zóbel saw the importance of introducing students to modern and contemporary art. He laid the foundation for the institution by donating over 200 pieces from his own collection creating what would become the country’s first museum of modern art.
